FIRE DEPARTMENT

Graysville Fire Department has four (4) firefighters on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week working out of 2 fire stations. Station 1 is located at 246 South Main Street, behind City Hall. Station 2 is located at 1200 1st Avenue SE, across from M&M Tire. Station 1 is equipped with a 2004 Pierce Dash custom pumper and a 2003 Ford Expedition. Station 2 is equipped with a 2008 Pierce Dash customer pumper, a 1978 Pierce 85′ Snorkel, a 1996 Freightliner reserve pumper, and a 14′ aluminum rescue boat. Graysville FD also houses a 2009 Ford F350 truck, a 25kw mobile generator, and a John Deer Gator UTV from Jefferson County EMA.

With the stations and equipment listed above and a very active training and public education division, as well as, a strong mutual aid program in place with Adamsville FD, the Graysville FD has been able to achieve a class 3/3x ISO rating. This puts Graysville FD in the top 12% nationwide of the more than 41,000 fire departments evaluated by ISO.

The majority of the fire department personnel are not just certified firefighters and paramedics but are also certified instructors. With the vast amount of experience and training that makes up the Graysville FD, they are able to provide not only quality fire protection, but also advanced life support medical care, technical rescue including rope rescue and water rescue, vehicle extrication, and most importantly effective fire prevention and public education including CPR/AED/First Aid training.
